Over the course of time, owners of car models that ceased to be produced some time ago become faced with limited availability of spare parts. Eventually, some components are simply sold out completely. Most car manufacturers guarantee availability for at least 10-15 years after the last date on which the model in question is produced, but there is by no means any obligation to do this. The manufacturer will keep parts available for as long as this is commercially viable. The manufacturer and/or supplier will keep the part in question available depending on available stock, the fleet, the achievable sale price and market demand.
