Jeep Cherokee back on the road thanks to Car Lock Systems

Imagine this: you’re on your way to Italy to deliver a Jeep Cherokee, when suddenly your bag is stolen with all the car keys inside. That’s exactly what happened to Bas Donders. What followed was a technically challenging all‑keys‑lost situation in which speed, expertise and teamwork made all the difference.

This customer case shows what Car Lock Systems excels at: solving complex problems under time pressure.

The challenge: all keys lost abroad

After the theft of the bag and keys, the Jeep was literally stuck. No working key available, and the vehicle was already en route to Italy.

Internally, the immediate question was: can we still program this Jeep, and how do we get it back on the road as quickly as possible?

Several colleagues from sales, operations, parts and support joined forces to map out the situation. They examined:

  • Which remote and key blade were needed
  • Whether programming via CIP was possible
  • The feasibility of an all‑keys‑lost procedure
  • The role of a potential PIN code

Analysis & approach

After internal coordination, it was determined that:

  • The correct parts (remote and key blade) were quickly available
  • Programming via CIP was possible if correctly registered
  • A PIN code would likely be required in this situation

The biggest challenge turned out not to be the key itself, but an aftermarket alarm system blocking communication with the vehicle.

Onsite solution

Despite several attempts, it was initially impossible to establish communication with the car. Only after a local electrician removed the aftermarket alarm entirely could the process be completed successfully. The result was impressive: at 17:30, the Jeep was able to drive away from the airport. A successful solution despite the extra technical hurdles.

Why this case matters

This example clearly shows where Car Lock Systems makes the difference:

  • Deep vehicle knowledge, even in all‑keys‑lost situations
  • Fast coordination between departments
  • Practical thinking when the standard route fails
  • Teamwork that leads to results

It also highlights that our role goes beyond supplying parts. We think along, keep searching, and don’t stop until the vehicle is running again.

Not every case goes by the book. It’s precisely in these situations that our experience, knowledge and collaboration come together. A case to be proud of and a great example of why customers trust Car Lock Systems. Thanks to all colleagues who contributed.
